There is a stretch in August when nothing moves. Replies slow, meetings drift, the heat sits on everything. It is tempting to read it as failure. It is better read as a season.

What athletes know

Coaches build deload weeks into training on purpose. Lower volume, lower intensity, and the body comes back stronger. The flat stretch is not the enemy of progress; it is part of it.

What good managers do

They lower the bar on purpose. Fewer initiatives, more maintenance. They do not launch in August. They prepare September.

For you

Keep the non-negotiables: sleep, movement, the one project that matters. Let the rest idle. Judge yourself by what you keep, not by what you cannot force.

A comeback does not have to look like momentum every week. Sometimes it looks like not quitting in the heat.
